Welcome to Wapo Taco

Wapo's a new entry in the Boston burrito game correction: they've been around for some time, settling in my 'hood - Roslindale. It's right in the square (Map), actually, but I hadn't been there in the yet since they opened.

Seth Shuman's little sister told me it was good. Plus I also saw the cashier at Macy's Liquors eating a burrito and she said it was from Wapo Taco.

I had a little trouble getting there, 'cause they're closed on Sundays and Mondays, and they shut the door at 8 during the week.

This entry is filed in Wapo Taco.

Minor correction: Wapo Taco's actually been around for quite awhile - like years and years.

You are crazy! Supermarket quality? I've watched the food be prepped and you will never get the same quality at Taco bell. There is pride taken with the products here.

Wow ! Lol you should not be a food specialist.Go eat at your comercialized taco bell. I Went to taco bell in hyde park the other day and they seriosly said they were out of taco's. lol not joking. You should learn about food and instead of saying roslindale is part of your home town ,I think you should go to mexico and try a real taco so that way you learn a thing or two about what a real taco taste like ! Not a Taco Bell idiot! -={ I <3 Wapo Taco }=-

Actually, I'm not a huge fan of Wapo's burritos myself. Where they really shine is their soft tacos (they are Wapo Taco after all...) especially their soft steak tacos. Holy cow the meat in that is divine.

I know this is a burrito blog, so I think it's fair to give them a low burrito rating, but if folks are looking for great, cheap soft tacos, Wapo rules.

Wapo nothing. Worst food ever. Nothing absolutely nothing is good in that place. I should buy some retail space in Rozzie Sq. and open a burrito/taco joint. I have no experience at it but any mash I put together would be as good or better than Wapo's. I have no idea how or why they are still open. I was really excited when they opened but unfortunately came away disappointed. I gave Wapo another chance in 04 but again came away saying never again. I'm sorry I had to Simon Cowellize the place but I speak the truth.

yeah, i was also unpleasantly surprised by their burrito. it was cold and it seemd of lesser quality. i like supporting local biz so i will have to try their taco's or the nachos next time.

Are you kidding? I love Wapo Taco! Their Wapo Chicken Burrito is the best.

Well, it is what it is. Don't go there if you are looking for Anna's, but I think it's a pretty decent job on Sonoran style comfort food. I have lived in Mexico and the southwest, and the thing you have to remember, is there are lots of different approaches to the burrito. Most places in Boston won't make a refried bean burrito, but in parts of Mexico, that is very authentic. Wapo is good comfort food, but I go there only when the mood strikes. I am more likely to hit Romano's around the corner.
