Welcome To San Marcos

Walking to and from the train each day down Saint Mark's in NYC's East Village, I'd passed San Marcos a number of times (Map). The place always seems busy; the outdoor seating is lively and filled with happy hour drinks. Check out the official site here.

But all is not as it seems.

The happy hour deals only exist for indoor seating. Ok...let's step inside.

Yeah dude, I am from California and the burritos in New York are different. Not to say they aren't good but they just are the same as they make them in San Diego or San Francisco. Have you tried a San Franciso Mission Style burrito? Those rock man. Burritoville in New York is close in taste but what would cost $8 at Burritoville would only cost you $3 and change in San Francisco and in my opinion much better. The funniest thing are those Fresh Taco joints throughout New York that are run by Koreans. They certainly know how to grill the meats but they can't really roll the burritos though - they always fall apart. Nice blog. I got to do some write ups on burritos myself.
