The Huevos Rancheros Dating Scene
Consider these dates uno y dos.
There wasn't anything bad about this plate. The eggs were a bit overdone but I dig the verde sauce. The rice could have been at fault - a little bland. The good news is you can order this plate at night. Still, I don't know what's missing in my huevos rancheros relationship. Help me.
Update: I've received a few emails to check out the Centre Street Cafe in JP. I'm on it.

Name Change From Mariachi To Amigo
Pictured above is a Mexican steak, ordered by Mr. John Liu. Unlike the type of thing you find at the local Outback or whatever, a Mexican steak is cut thin and cooked in a fry pan.
We met up with Waltham residents and diner fanatics Darius and Dharia. They are such diner fanatics that they have a blog dedicated to their passion, Dinersaur. Like the Bostonist crew, these are my kind of people.

Thank You, El Mariachi
Compare with the Sopa Sale, What Else Do You Need, and the Mad Amigo.

Structurally Unsound El Mariachi
Well since I'm in the neighborhood...
Although my last experience here was great, this time wasn't so hot. I had the burrito al pastor, and it totally fell apart on me.
Yes, I know how to use a fork and knife.
But I prefer to eat with my hands.

The Chorizo Con Papas Sendoff
The burritos here aren't wrapped in foil, a feature I fear I will always desire. I digress.
Greg had the Al Pastor, which was surprisingly sweet, but not overwhelmingly so.
The three of us got the burrito combo, which is a burrito and a taco. Why? We are victims of marketing. The burrito combo was priced the same as a burrito and, you guessed it, a taco.

Ever Eat Cow Cheek?
Called Cabeza, this cheek taco was actually quite delicious. I've tried Lengua (tongue) and had a less than thrilling experience, so I was a little nervous.
The meat was very soft and stringy, although a little fatty. It's not something I'd eat all the time, but if you're going to branch out and try something wild, this is a safe bet.
Note: the Lengua was not from this restaurant, but from Tacos Lupita.

Welcome to Taqueria El Mariachi
This tiny place sits off of River Street in Waltham, MA (Map). There are only a few tables inside, but each of the 16 or so seats deliver some great dining options. The menu is actually pretty extensive (click for a larger image) and El Mariachi offers table service, but the prices would have you thinking otherwise.
It's not the most immaculate restaurant I've ever been to, but you should let the food speak for itself. They offer a taquitos, tacos, burritos, chimichangas tortas, plus many authentic mexican plates and a breakfast menu.
On the weekends, you can get some special soups, just like Tacos Lupita.
